This Sunday's praise song

This Sunday, January 31, we will be having a hymn sing. Along with that, we will be learning a new iWORSH!P praise song, "Rise Up and Praise Him" by Paul Baloche and Gary Sadler. You can watch the video below to become familiar with the song.

See you Sunday!

Every month you can find out all about the exciting activities that the ESL students are enjoying by reading the Watch Your Language Newsletter. You can learn more about what’s up downstairs.
The month of January we are working on Study skills knowing that each student comes into our class with different learning points. So we take from that a place to start. A very important part of learning is attitude.

Strong learners have the ability to observe and recognize details. Students can practice these skills by looking at a picture in a magazine or newspaper – describing out loud everything they can about what they see, every detail. This kind of skill is tested in research learning labs and exams, and yet this practice activity builds a number of skills. Students will be able to improve their vocabulary - they can look up words they don't know in English in their dictionary. This will also train their brain to notice and recognize details, something that will improve their overall learning.
I am thrilled as to what our students have learned so far. I am giving them each Sunday a few words to focus on. They need to repeat these words as many times as they can among you as a church family and during the week to people they meet that speak English. It is very important for them to learn the correct pronunciation. A student can have a lot of grammar knowledge, but if they cannot pronounce the word right, it is not correct!
Our class time starts with a song, prayer, and one scripture verse in Spanish. I think it is important to hear something they are familiar with and then precede on into English! God will take this endeavor to where he desires it to be, and I am so excited. I leave you with this verse—“(Life by the Spirit) So I say, live by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature,” Galatians 5:16 Keep Watching Your Language--Fonda
